Abstract

The history of the down draught Dwight- Lloyd system of iron ore sintering in Australia is developed. Characterisation of the broad process is given for one plant, and regional divergences from the reference practice are noted and briefly analysed. The subject of the development of high basicity sinters is introduced, and regional differences in approach and results are Examined.
