Abstract

COMPANIES operating airplanes have had a relatively prosperous year, permitting them gradually to re- place old types of equipment. The pre-eminence of American-made planes, engines, and accessories has been challenged, either by foreign designs or by domestic patterns that have, for one reason or another. been licensed for manufacture abroad.
