Abstract

In this review of the copper, lead, zinc, and molybdenum industries in Mexico, the author describes how the country's position in the world base metals market and the climate for foreign investment in Mexico have been affected by the nationalization of the banking industry in that country and by recent mining legislation and the current national debt crisis.
