Mc-Graw-Hill Book Co., New York. $8.50.-First issued 13 years ago, this book has become a milestone in the literature of mining and metallurgy. Mr. Dorr, with the assistance of F. L. Bosqui, has completely revised the book. Its comprehensive picture of ore dressing and hydrometallurgical methods are of importance to mining engineers and operators throughout the entire field. Operating data and methods, flowsheets, testing procedures, and many miscellaneous methods of extracting bullion are given. The book is divided into two sections, the first discussing principal unit processes involved in gold and silver recovery, and the second describing with flow diagrams a number of typical treatment plants selected from the more important gold and silver mining areas in various parts of the world.
