Abstract
PRESENTATION PURPOSE ? Provide an overview of BC?s Environmental Assessment Actand environmental assessment process ? Identify key issues influencing environmental assessments in BC ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT ACT ? Major project proposals require an EA before a project can proceed ? Considers potential effects of proposed projects and ways to minimize or avoid adverse effects Minister of Environment and the Minister designated as responsible for project category decide whether or not to certify a project or order further assessment
