Abstract

Mineral commodities on National Forest System lands contribute to the nation's well being. Access to these commodities is dependent on public perceptions of the effects of mineral operations on other resources. An outlook is described which the Forest Service believes is essential to the minerals industry if it plans to continue seeking minerals on National Forest and Grasslands.
