Construction Delays And Disruptions

The successful construction project is one in which the component construction operations are completed within the scheduled time and cost parameters. Most construction projects, however, are subject to delays and/or disruptions which adversely affect the time (start, duration, and completion) and cost aspects of the project. DELAYS Delays fall into two categories: Compensable Delays for which the contractor is entitled to contract time extensions and additional money as compensation for the extra expenses generated by the delay or obstruction to job progress, and Non Compensable Delays, for which the contractor may or may not receive an extension of time but no additional compensation.
