Abstract

"This paper will provide a general assessment of the differences in construction and industrial labour relations. From this outline will come a detailed examination of labour relations in the construction industry and then specifically as related to the construction of mining projects, with emphasis on projects in isolated areas. Development of manpower forecasts, manpower availability, wage escalation formats, working rules, training and recruitment programs, and safety - as related to construction labour relations in the mining industry - are topics which will be dealt with."
