Abstract

During the past few years a nuinber of improvements in smelting and power equipment have been made at the Douglas smelter of the Phelps Dodge Corporation at Douglas, Ariz. In the summer of 1935 work was started on the first unit of a new reverberatory waste-heat boiler plant which ultimately was to furnish steam for a modern high-pressure power pIant.
