Abstract

Zinc Corporation of Broken Hi11 had some long hole stopes coming into use which could not be mined using diesel loaders, because of ventilation restrictions. In preference to use of pneumatic loaders, and because there were no field proven electric loaders in Australia, Horwood Bagshaw Ltd., were commissioned to repower a diesel loader with an electric motor, within the confines of the existing machine
