Abstract
William Kent, Montclair, N. J. (communication to the Secretary*):—The authors say, "The factor which determines the completeness of combustion of tlie volatile matter, after it has bee11 mixed with a certain amount of air, is the length of time the mixture is allowed to remain in the combustion-space; but this length of time depends on the extent of the space itself."
