Abstract
EARLE EDWARD SCHUMACHER, the new Chairman of the Institute of Metal, Division. is well known to the metallurgical profession. His election a, Chairman is the culmination of fifteen years' service to the Institute, beginning in 1930 when he was elected Member. Since that time he has served as member of the I.M.D. Data Sheet Committee. 1935-40; Papers and Publication Committee. 1936; Executive Committee. 1937-1910: Papers and Programs Committee, 1937-1938. (Vice-Chairman, 1939-40, Chairman. 1941-12): Annual Award Committee. 194142. (Vice-Chairman, 19431: Vice-Chairman, LM.D., 1943-44; Chairman Publication Committee, 1943-44; member Powder Metallurgy Committee), 1944.
