Abstract

The domestic portland cement industry consumes more than 12 million tons annually of raw materials chemically similar to fly ash. How these materials are used and how fly ash can serve in their place are discussed. Factors influencing whether or not a particular plant will use fly ash in place of an alternate material are discussed.
