Abstract
AN ENGINEER with as varied geographical experience as H. J. Brown does not often specialize on one particular thing all of his professional life. For forty years he has been engaged in gypsum mining, manufacturing, plant design, construction, and operation. Not only is it his work, but he says it is his hobby as well, though membership in three yacht clubs might belie that statement. New England's new representative on the A.I.M.E. Directorate, who was born in New York, Dec. 20, 1879, went to the Lawrence Scientific School at Harvard at the turn of the century.
