Abstract

This paper describing the mining practices at Mine No. 2 of the Marquette Range, Michigan is one of a series being prepared by the Bureau of Mines on mining practices, methods, and costs in the various minim; districts of the United States. The publication, of this information should be of interest to the industry at large and the exchange of ideas thereby made possible should be of economic value to operators in all harts of the country. ACKNOWLEDGMENTS The author is indebted to the superintendent, engineer, and mining captain of the property discussed in this paper for much of the information presented. The geological classification is taken from publications of the U. S. Geological purvey.
