Abstract

This paper describing the mining practices at Mine No. 1, Menominee Range, Mich., is one of a. series being prepared by the Bureau of Mines on mining practices, methods, and costs in the various mining districts of the United States. It is felt that the publication of this information will be of interest and value to the mining industry at large and especially to operators whose mining conditions are similar to those described. ACKNOWLEDGMENTS The author is indebted to the superintendent, engineer, and mining captain of Mine No. 1 for much of the information presented.
