This report represents the results of a literature study on boron nitride and related substances. The purpose of the study was to find Information that might be of value for production of a new, hard modification of boron nitride preferably in single crystal form. The report consists of a review of the major developments in boron nitride research, a discussion of the results, tabulations of physical and chemical properties;, conclusions drawn from the study, and a bibliography.
