Abstract

This paper is one of a series published by the Bureau of Mines on the mineral resources of the Nation. It describes briefly the occurrence of sodium sulfate in Salt Lake and Tooele Counties, Utah, presents data on sampling, and describes ex-traction and refining raw material and a mining research project that has been conducted on the deposits. ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS Acknowledgments are given to the Tintic Standard Mining Co., Salt Lake City, Utah, and Bartlett Chemicals, Inc., New Orleans, La., for permission to use data obtained by the companies.
