This report is the 16th of a series of reports originally issued annually and more recently biennially to acquaint the reader with the work of the Explosives and Physical Sciences Division, Region VIII.3/ In the majority of instances the results of the investigations are made available to the public through Government publications and journal articles. In certain instances (specifically as regards security-classified research, investigations of a confidential nature, and short-range programs of very limited scope) results are reported only to those immediately concerned.
