Abstract

To improve safety by making speed and direction control of a tracked vehicle simpler and instinctive. Approach A joystick control (which determines vehicle speed and direction of movement as well as the direction of any turning or pivoting) was developed and tested on a loading machine during a long-term underground demonstration. How It Works The control box actuated by the joystick lever contains two multiposition, multideck rotary switches.
