Abstract

A countercurrent method of metal refining using crystallization and reflux is discussed. 4n account is given of the development of this technique for the separation of silver and bismuth from lead using bench-scale studies to the present small pilot-plant unit (around one tonne per day) in the "Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO)" Division of Chemical Engineering.
