Abstract

Ontario Mining Association (OMA) represents 57 members that are engaged in exploring, producing & processing mineral resources in an environmentally responsible manner. Conservation Bureau at the Ontario Power Authority (OPA) develops, coordinates and stimulates commitment to electricity conservation and demand management programs ? OMA selected compressed air optimization for high impact cost savings and energy efficiency potential ? Ontario Power Authority (OPA) provided $218k funding for $532k project ? Commenced summer 2006, Final Report June 2007 ? Three representative sites participating: ? Williams, CVRD Inco & FNX McCreedy ? Different levels of energy management ? Small, medium and large mining operations ? Different corporate practices and culture
