Abstract

The East Side Access (ESA) project is the largest commuter railroad project ever undertaken in the United States. The purpose of the ESA project is to bring commuters from Long Island into Grand Central Terminal. The program is estimated to cost $4.3billion. The purpose of this paper is to describe the key design elements for the Queens segment, ?re life safety, ventilation and changes to the proposed contract delivery method.
