Abstract

This report, authorized under contract Number H0111403 Amendment Number One, entitled, "Exploration of Illumination Concepts for Underground Coal Mines", contains the results of an investigation of methods, procedures, and technology for providing working place lighting in underground coal mines and construction of a prototype, man portable, mine illumination system and a prototype, machine mounted, mine illumination system for use in high and low coal entries of underground coal mines.
