Abstract

The precision of radon daughter measurement techniques is a complicated function of uncertainties arising from concentration and flowrate fluctuations during sampling, counting statistics and many other factors. Optimization of a measurement technique requires that all these uncertainties - not just counting statistics - be considered. In this work, the optimization procedure of Busigin and Phillips (1980) is tested against Monte Carlo experiments for the case of the modified Tsivoglou method.
