Abstract

The constituents iron, oxygen, silica and cop- per are of principal interest in slags utilized in pyrornetallurgical processes for producing copper. Accordingly, phase relationships in the.Cu-Fe-0-SiO2 system are important when one considers the physico- chemical behavior of slags. These phase relation- ships for the quaternary and constituent ternary systems are developed from available information. Isothermal composition and composition-oxygen potential diagrams, and oxygen potential-temperature diagrams are utilized to describe the' important relationships.
