Abstract
IF we may characterize the aim of metallurgists twenty years ago by any one point towards which their efforts were especially directed, we should say it was the idea of adapting '' waste products" to some useful purpose, while the energy of to-day seems rather to take the direction of so arranging processes as to have no "waste products."
