Abstract

This paper describes Newmont's research, operations, history and experience with pre-treatment of preg robbing carbonaceous ores. The chemistry, physics and kinetics of chlorine treatment are described. Present operations, control strategy and projected changes are discussed. Included is a summary of the adsorption of chlorine into pulps and off-gas scrubbing.
