Abstract

WHILE HYDROGEN SULFIDE precipitates metal sulfides from aqueous solutions, other gases such as sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide, and hydrogen, under certain conditions, precipitate the metals directly. This can be achieved at high temperature and pressure. Such processes are of great technical importance, since metals of high purity are precipitated economically in a powder form.
