Abstract

THE most important improvements in copper metallurgy today are the advances in the art of leaching and electrical precipitation of copper from solution; the development of flotation processes; improvements in crushing and pulverizing machinery; the enlarged units of both reverberatory and .blast furnaces, together with the application of pulverized coal to both styles .of furnaces; the enlargement of' units for converting copper and the improving of the mechanical design of converter shells and equipment; the electrical precipitation of flue dust and fume from escaping gases.
