Abstract
Six years after the start of gold heap leaching at Smoky Valley Mining, Round Mountain, Nevada, three areas of process improvements are examined to show how productivity was increased. Original design concepts and practices are reviewed in order to compare to current methods. The evolution of change in heap mainterance is also reviewed.
