Abstract

Rising energy costs are a growing concern among mine operators. At sur’ace operations, the size of a dragline, production requirements, pit geometry and layout, and operator skill are all factors in potential energy savings. The following tips are offered as a practical means to conserve energy demand, and can be applied to diesel fuel draglines as well.
