Abstract

[Detonators are used to explode permissible explosives, dynamites, or other high explosives. This explosion or detonation is brought about by the energy which is liberated as a combination of concussion and heat when the detonator is fired. In Other words; "The detonator is the key which unlocks the energy of a high explosive" (8)4. Being sensitive and latently dangerous, detonators must meet two primary requirements: They must be safe to handle and must detonate when desired, thereby imparting detonation to the explosive charge.]
