Abstract
This report covers the magnetic survey in the Redford-Clayburg area ,
which was part of a general survey of magnetite deposits in New York started
in 1943 .
Other areas being surveyed include the Star Lake district , St. Lawrence
County; Russia Station district , Clinton County; Brewster district , Putnam
County; and the Sterling district , Orange County.
Only a relatively small portion of the area was covered by reconnaissance
and detailed surveys . Results were promising enough to warrant additional
work.
Magnetic surveys of this type serve as a basis for selecting areas for
diamond drilling by the Bureau of lines .
