Abstract
This report covers the magnetic surveying done in the Plattsburg area ,
which was part of a general survey, of magnetite deposits in New York State .
Other areas being surveyed are the Star Lake district , St. Lawrence County ;
Brewster district , Putnam County; and the Sterling district , Orange County.
Reconnaissance indicated an area about 3 miles long and 1,200 feet wide ,
but detailed surveys have been completed on only a portion of that area .
In several districts , surveys of this type have served as a basis in the
selection of areas for exploration by diamond drilling by the Bureau of Mines .
