Abstract

As a part of the general chromite investigation in California designed to aid In the production of chromite during the recent war emergency, the Bureau of Mines explored the Coggins property in Siskiyou County, Work by the Bureau in cooperation with the Federal Geological Survey began in October 1942 and was concluded in March 1943. This report presents a brief history of the mine, outlines the physical features of the district, describes the deposits) and explains the work completed by the Bureau of Mines, Table 1 shows the analysis of diamond drill-hole samples. The logs of drill holes are in the appendix.
