Abstract
An apparatus has been developed for determining the helium content of
gases containing 40 percent or more helium . It utilizes activated coconut
charcoal at liquid nitrogen temperatures to adsorb constituents other than
helium in the mixture . Series of analyses have been run where the mean
deviation was less than 0.05 percent helium . Twenty or more analyses can be
made in an 8- hour day .
