Abstract

A review of the aqua regia method for the recovery of gold from jewelry shop wastes is given. Also outlined is a specialized procedure for the recovery of the silver that occurs in these wastes. A classic method for the recovery of platinum and palladium is, given. There is a brief review of other gold and silver refining methods. Environmental conditions are discussed and a few perhaps, new and useful processes ,are mentioned. References are by author or editor and are listed alphabetically. Suggestions for further information in the field of precious metals, are given in a final list.
