Abstract

"In this paper, two methods of standardizing mill language are proposed; one is based on metric units and the other on English units. Tentative procedures for chemical and screen analysis based on published methods are proposed.Standard procedures for determining work index, and for leaching, flotation, and classification tests are outlined.Objects of Standardization:(1) to improve communication -(a) among gold metallurgists(b) with other branches of mineral dressing(c) with mineral dressing in other countries(d) with general scientific procedure(2) to improve mill control by -(a) standard methods of analysis (i)(ii)(iii)(b) standard methods of calcula tiort(c) standard accounting proceduresin the plantin the mill laboratoryin the assay office(3) to improve mill test work and investigationAreas of Standardization(1) Nomenclature or terminology(2) Measuring techniques(3) Test procedures(4) Accounting procedures"
