Abstract

The present paper analyzes the motion of a particle of material in a horizontaly rotating tumbling mill. The sliding of the particle under action of dynamic and friction forces and its free flight fall are analyzed. It was found that mechanism of free-fall occurs at supercritical rotations of the mill.
