Abstract
Talc has been mined at Madoc since 1896, the oldest mine in
continuous operation in Canada. Canada Talc Industries
Limited operates the Henderson and Conley deposits by
underground methods. A newly discovered East zone is being
de veloped by open pit. The raw Henderson talc is a foliated
talc schist of high purity and whiteness; Conley talc is a white
talcose dolomite. Products are used primarily as fillers in
paints, plastics and rubber.
