Abstract

This chapter shows how flash furnace industrial oxygen and oil requirements are affected by different: (a) product temperatures (b) conductive, convective and radiative heat losses (c) electrical energy inputs (d) hydrocarbon fuels. The calculations of the chapter are all for production of 65% Cu matte from pure CuFeS2 concentrate. Blast temperature is? 298 K throughout.
