The presentation describes the history, preliminary report, site investigation, including examination of old records, design of tunnel including choice of levels, alternative linings and working sites, the preliminary contract involving shaft sinking on the site of the Tower Block; design modifications, the main contract, including shaft sinking, ground treatment, compressed air installation, machine tunnelling, tunnelling enlargements for chambers, waterproofing and equipment.
