After his resignation from that company he made a semi-regional survey to investigate the regional problems raised by the preliminary study. Broken Hill South Ltd. continued its studies on the known ore bodies while the author's investigation was going on, and he is indebted to the staff of this company for assistance during his field work.The area mapped is part of a larger area mapped in reconnaissance by the Aerial, Geological and Geophysical Survey of Northern Australia by a party headed by Dr. H.
