Abstract

The economic performance and competitiveness of a concentrator are dependent on the production of accurate real-time assay information and the manner in which it is utilized. Our paper describes the relative merits of on-and in-stream analysis techniques and the economic significance of Assay-Based control and Target Oriented Display Systems. At Outokumpu's pyhasalmi Concentrator, a Flotation Expert Display System aids the process operator to make better decisions and provides guidance on the most efficient method of achieving the desired control objectives.
