Abstract

The molybdenite flotation plant at Magma Copper Company, San Manuel concentrator has been in operation since 1956. In January of 1980 the plant was converted from a hydrogen peroxide - ferrocyanide process to the current sodium cyanide - sodium hydrosulfide process. This paper is an operational review of Magma Copper Company's molybdenite recovery circuit, column cell flotation experience and use of on- stream x-ray flourescence analysis.
