Abstract

Mineral Resource Management (MRM) is a business concept with the purpose of increasing throughput by management of key process variables to optimize ore utilization. To achieve a MRM process focus there are four principles that need to be applied to the business. In this sense, the paper define these principles and describe how they are applied to the mining business using Thabazimbi iron ore mine as an example. Also the article deals with the generic approach to Mineral Resource Management and the second part with the application and success of MRM at Thabazimbi Iron Ore Mine.
