Abstract

The Quintette Coal operation in northeastern British Columbia has one of the world's largest Preparation Plants, with a design capacity of 6.5 million tonnes per year of clean coal.This paper will discuss several innovative aspects of the flowsheet and plant design with particular reference to the selection of process equipment, materials handling and control systems.The operations and maintenance experience during the first two years of production will be described and discussed in relation to the design objectives.
