Abstract

This machine was manufactured for excavation of the Roppongi station of the Tokyo Metro Line 12. This machine can excavate both the platform and the rail track at the same time in locations where the traffic is congested and has following features: A multi-centered TBM of the size of 7.06(H) x 13.18(W) m The world first H&V TBM, with right and left machine parts articulated vertically and separately for position control A large erector for simultaneous erection of column and central segments of special shape to construct a highly reliable tunnel This paper reports the design concept, construction, and work record.
