Abstract

Typical leach mine operations recover gold values through the application of a dilute cyanide solution onto ore within an engineered facility. Key to the success of mining operations is the, containment and management of the cyanide solutions within the facility. Properly engineered' facilities will have containment systems that are both protective of the environment while enhancing solution recovery. This paper not only discusses general containment standards, but identifies state-of-the-art containment and monitoring practices;
